Tracing the Journey: 1970s Military Canvas

Each roll of canvas was individually hand picked from a military surplus warehouse in Los Angeles, California. Each roll was carefully inspected for material integrity and the canvases were repurposed to revitalize the material.

We collaborated with a wash house in Los Angeles, California, to stonewash each sheet of canvas. This process softens the fabric, reducing the stiffness and rigidity of the canvas. After an extensive drying process, the sheets were sent to Italy to be cut and manufactured into our Pillar Low and Pillar High silhouettes.

To give each pair a unique, vintage look, we hand-distressed every single pair. No two pairs are exactly the same.
